upcoming releases I’m excited about

I was visiting my Amazon shopping cart the other day, and thinking about what I have pre-ordered there. I thought maybe we could share some of our excitement about upcoming releases:

Upcoming:

Magic Lessons, by Justine Larbalestier (March 16). Actually, I ordered this before Justine and I agreed to swap books, so I will probably give this copy to someone as a gift. It’s the second book in her YA fantasy trilogy, Magic or Madness?, about a girl who must choose between using the magic in her blood and dying young, or abstaining and going crazy. She left us all on quite the cliffhanger in the first one, so I’m going to devour this the second I get my hands on it! Deadlines? What deadlines?

A Hunger Like No Other, by Kresley Cole (March 28). Kresley writes some amazing historical novels (epistulary! maritime!), and now she’s turning her hand to her own unique (Valkyrie?) twist on vampire tales. I can’t wait to see what she does with it!

Dark Demon, by Christine Feehan (March 28). Ooh, another Carpathian. And check out this banging cover! I heard that the mythology has a big twist in this one.

Parallel Attraction, by Deidre Knight (April 4). The excerpt for this totally won me over. Actually, I’ve been waiting for this one since its sale was announced. A dethroned alien king and the Earth woman who knows all of his secrets. Don’t expect your standard time-travel story. I’ve seen the kind of research Deidre did for this one.

I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You, by Ally Carter (May 1). Quite a mouthful, but this is another one with a rockin’ excerpt and a killer premise: a spy school for genius adolescent girls.

Specials, by Scott Westerfeld (May 9). Do I really need to say anything? Third book in the Uglies trilogy. I’m so there.

Well, after that we’re pretty much getting onto summer releases, so I’ll tell you about those later… this list looks pretty paranormal-heavy, which is interesting. I’m not usually so bent on paranormals. I guess that’s just what’s out there in teh most abundance right now.

What are you looking forward to?
