11. CP Read
12. Write SSG2.

And today, I add: Go to friend’s birthday party; sign and return Brazilian contract.

Man, it’s only 9 a.m. and I’m already feeling overwhelmed.

I’m also working on a bunch of industry-related posts for the blog, so stay tuned and I’ll be back on that as soon as I have a free moment to be diverted.

In passing, to add to the list of “Why PAN sucks” we had our first posts in MONTHS by some new members who wanted to introduce themselves, and were immediately smacked down by moderators who said “we discourage introductions.” Well, they might as well discourage discourse of any kind! Have they never heard of “breaking the ice?” Hells bells, people, on most lists, it’s considered rude to jump in with a question without introducing yourself! In fact, in most social or business situations, it’s considered so. Perhaps if there *had* been some sort of activity on the list, the newbies wouldn’t have felt so awkward speaking up. If there *had* been people TALKING ABOUT ANYTHING, maybe they could have jumped in. But no. everyone’s silent as the grave, so what’s a person to do? Well, standard etiquette says to introduce themselves. Like going up to soemone at a party and saying hi and “my name is” and hoping it starts conversation. But apparently, we don’t adhere to standard etiquette on the PAN loop.

I’m telling you PROs out there, don’t EVER EVER EVER let on to the people in RWA that you have sold a book. Don’t apply to PAN, don’t tell anyone about your contract, just keep it under wraps, or you, too, will lose all ways to meaningfully converse with other writers.

Signing off from the PAN ghetto…
