Bread and Circuses

A few items of note:

First, the remarkable Heather Zundel has made the most extraordinary, For Darkness Shows the Stars-themed bread. It involves fermented potatoes (for the New Zealand cred), wheat (natch), and sea salt. I’m amazed. I’m enthralled. I’m totally hungry. You have to read how she did it!

Secondly, I’m over at Genreality today (after a totally accidental hiatus because I’m up to my ears in work) talking about writing conferences and conventions. Who knew that in ten years in this business (holy crap I’m getting old, y’all), that I would have so much to say on the subject? While crafting this post, I started counting it up, and I realized that I’ve been to more than 30 conferences/conventions/three-ring-circuses due to my writing, with five more scheduled by the end of the year. And that doesn’t count retreats, signings, school and library visits, speeches, and countless RWA chapter meetings. I have this idea that my job is mostly sitting around in yoga pants at my laptop, but apparently I’m kind of a social butterfly.

Though it’s been very yoga pantsy lately. Or maybe yoga shorts. It’s v. hot out.
