Secret No More: Among the Nameless Stars

Finally, the big surprise!

Among the Nameless Stars

Before Kai joined the Cloud Fleet, he wandered…

Four years before the events of FOR DARKNESS SHOWS THE STARS, the servant Kai left the North Estate, the only home he’d ever known, and Elliot North, the only girl he ever loved, in search of a better life. But the journey was not an easy one.

Featuring narrow escapes, thrilling boat races and at least one deadly volcanic wasteland.

(And yes, this is what I was talking about when I described FDSTS as “standalone-ish.” Not that you HAVE to read the prequel — you don’t, I didn’t even write it until after the book was well into production — but you CAN. It’s my special gift to you.)

It’s nice and meaty (over 60 pages) and best of all: it’s FREE. Go read it now, while supplies last. (Link opens PDF)

Just kidding, it’s online, so supplies are infinite.

Special thanks to: Sailor Boy, R.J. Anderson, Carrie Ryan, Sarah Rees Brennan, Vania Stoyanova, Jo Treggiari, and Heather Zundel fer helping me with this project. And of course, Kristin Rens and the crew at Balzer + Bray.

I hate to say it, but the link doesn’t work…

    Yes! Yay! Thank you!

I’m not sure I can read this beforehand, though. I’m feeling very much like FDSTS is going to be one of those books I’m going to read in one sitting, and then I’m going to be desperate for more afterwards. So I’m tucking this one away for afterwards.

Thanks for adding to my excitement, though. I have next Tuesday circled on my calendar. =)

You can read it in any order. I think you get a slightly different experience reading it afterward — I had critique partners from both ends of the spectrum at it was interesting to see the differing reactions of those who’d already read FD vs the other.

I saw the prequel news on the back of the bookmark and I was psyched… can’t wait to check it out! =)

Ooh, exciting! I don’t want to seem ungrateful and I know this is likely out of your control, but do you know if this will be available in a more e-reader friendly format at some point? I would happily pay for it.

I’m really excited for this. 🙂 I’ve sent it to my feed reader, but I’m with Tiff – I want to wait to read FD first. (Let’s see if I can hold out!)

LOVED IT! Anything else would be spoilery.
