When are you going to post a real post?

I feel like I’ve been such a little blog slacker in the past few weeks. First, the trips. Then, the enormous amount of catch up work (cf. To Do lists). I’m even behind on my GCC touring.

But the real reason I’ve been falling behind in the past few days is that my FOOT IS KILLING ME. I’m such a wimp, too. I’ve been lying on the couch and moaning and making Sailor Boy get me meds and ice packs and stuff. And finally, I’ve gotten the nerve to suck up the sticker shock of high-deductible health insurance and just call the doctor. So I’ve got an appointment at the podiatrist tomorrow, and I know it’s going to be enormously expensive, and what I can’t understand is — why, in all the months and months of excellent non-profit health insurance at my old job, did I not fuck up my foot THEN? Grrrr… Ah, well, at least it will be tax deductible. Grumble, grumble.

In happier news, things are gearing up big time for the launch of Secret Society Girl next month! At the end of the month, I’ll be attending a special promotional event (more info TK) and I’m in the midst of planning the celebration surrounding my book launch. (I’ll, um, have more ideas about what I’m able to plan after I get the podiatry bill.) By the way, any readers in the Washington DC area should drop by my launch at the Borders Bookstore at the White Flint Mall on Tuesday, July 18th, at 7 p.m., where I will be doing a reading, discussion, and signing. There will also be prizes and giveaways. The more the merrier!
